Riverrun Collies
About Us

"All that we love deeply, becomes a part of us!" ...Helen Keller

Welcome to Riverrun Collies!

Riverrun Collies is a small breeding and showing hobby kennel located in the Town of Ridgefield, in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Our collies enjoy the 3 fenced acres of our home and yard. We have a small river running through the middle of our property in which our collies have learned to swim and play. Riverrun is part of the Watershed for the Saugatuck River. We back up to the Bennetts Pond State Park which offers miles of hiking trails for us and our collies.

Riverrun Collies is a family affair.   We have always had collies in our household but started showing and breeding collies in 1994.   Our love of animals and showing has spread to our daughters and sons, their husbands and wives, and even to our young granddaughter.

Riverrun Collies has the on-going goal of producing fun loving collies of distinctive beauty and elegance combined with soundness of body and mind. Each Riverrun breeding is carefully planned, and we are extremely excited as every litter and new generation surpasses the one before...

Here at Riverrun, collies must be more than just a “pretty face”. They have to have intelligence and beauty, not just to excel in the show ring, but also to excel in the performance ring, and to excel in the most important place of all – at home as a loving and out-going family pet and companion. Great health and good temperaments are a high priority for us!

We are extremely proud of our collies accomplishments.  We have been honored along the way with some prestigious awards and wins in conformation and performance.    Many of our Riverrun Collies have performance titles.   We are honored also to have a number of our Riverrun Collies being certified as therapy dogs and they make visits to nursing homes and hospitals throughout the area.   A few of these very special collies are highlighted in our All Stars section of our website for you to view.  Loyal, loving, outgoing and always making you laugh - Riverrun Collies are "Something to Live By".

We have partnered and co-owned a number of our collies and have co-bred a number of our collie litters with Galatean Collies in the past few years. It is a privilege to work with Mary and Rose Robischon and to have them as good friends and mentors.
